Paint yourself. Don't get spotted.

This is literally the game. Pick a color, scribble on the buddy, then test how well you'd blend into the wall.

What's new in June 2026

The solo dev has been shipping fast — six patches in a week, a new map, a new character, and a sales number that's gone vertical. Here's the latest as of June 26.

🎉
10M copies sold

The dev announced 10 million sales on Jun 25 — up from 5M just six days earlier.

🗺️
New map: Osaka

A Japan-themed official stage landed in update 1.7.0 (Jun 21) — fresh walls to blend into.

🧊
New character: Cube

Update 1.9.0 (Jun 23) added Cube, plus per-character selection before the round starts.

⚖️
Balance tweak

Hunter shotgun firing delay raised 1.5s → 2.0s (1.9.0). Hiders get a beat more to reposition after a miss.

Also shipped across 1.6.0–1.9.0: 11 new emotes, a Hider-size option, a player-report tool, and fixes for cloud-save infinite loading, pose desync, and an Osaka out-of-bounds gap. Source: official Steam community announcements.

want in now?

Grab it on Steam, dummy.

No mobile version = the only way in is a Windows PC running Steam. It's a light party game — your crusty laptop can handle it.

1. Install Steam (free, store.steampowered.com)
2. Search "Meccha Chameleon", check the price
3. Host a room, share the code, invite the squad

the big question →

Will Meccha Chameleon come to mobile?

Right now there is no official word on a Meccha Chameleon mobile port. The game is built by a solo developer and blew up to 10M+ copies in its first 16 days, so a phone version would make commercial sense — especially for party games where everyone already has a screen in their pocket.

If it does happen, expect iOS and Android releases to come after the PC version is stable. Touch controls would need a rethink: painting your chameleon precisely with a finger is trickier than a mouse, but gestures like tap-to-color and drag-to-blend feel natural. Until then, Steam Link is the closest thing to playing Meccha Chameleon on mobile.

We'll update this guide the moment a mobile announcement drops — bookmark the page or check back after major Steam updates.

watch out for fakes →

App Store and Google Play listings with names like "Meccha Chameleon Coloring" are unrelated coloring apps, not the official multiplayer game. There is no official iOS or Android release — if you're not installing it from Steam on a PC, it's not the real thing.

Meccha Chameleon mobile FAQ

When is Meccha Chameleon coming to mobile? ▾

No official date yet. With 10M+ copies sold in 16 days, a mobile port feels inevitable — but the solo dev hasn't confirmed anything. Watch the official Steam page for news.

Can I stream it to my phone via Steam Link? ▾

Yep — workaround, not native. Stream the PC version from your computer to your phone with Steam Link. Your PC runs the game, your phone is just the screen.

Is there an APK or unofficial mobile version? ▾

No legit one exists. Any 'Meccha Chameleon APK' floating around is a scam or malware, and App Store/Google Play apps with names like 'Meccha Chameleon Coloring' are unrelated coloring apps — not the official game. The real thing is Windows/Steam only. Don't fry your phone on a fake.

Will mobile and PC players play together? ▾

If a mobile version ever drops, crossplay would make total sense for a party game — but it's unconfirmed. See our crossplay guide.
